Man killed in Kangemi mob attack after attacking another over pool game

A 22 year old man was killed by a mob in Akiba area, Kangemi, Nairobi, after he attacked another man with a panga following a long standing dispute over a pool game.

Police said Collins Sirede was found lying dead along the road at about 10.00pm on Saturday with multiple head injuries.

According to the report, Sirede had seven months earlier differed with Clinton Munala over payment after Munala won a pool game.

On Saturday, Munala was accosted by Sirede while on his way home.

Sirede reportedly cut him on the right wrist with a panga before fleeing towards Akiba.

Members of the public reportedly chased Sirede and subjected him to mob justice, resulting in fatal injuries.

Munala was rushed to Eagles Nursing Home, where he was receiving treatment in serious condition.

The scene was processed by detectives from the Dagoretti Scenes of Crime Unit before Sirede’s body was moved to the City Mortuary pending a postmortem examination.

The case is being handled by the DCI Dagoretti as investigations continue.
