Residents of Ang’orom Ward in Teso South Constituency, Busia County, have strongly criticized their Member of County Assembly (MCA) James Ong’ole, accusing him of failing to deliver on his development mandate.
Led by Bosco Itila, Margret Aroni and Chris Wabwire, the residents lamented that despite Ang’orom Ward being part of Busia Municipality, the area continues to suffer from poor infrastructure and lack of essential services.
They cited dilapidated roads, inadequate access to clean water and unreliable electricity supply as some of the pressing challenges facing the ward.
According to the residents, the slow pace of development is a direct result of what they described as poor leadership and lack of commitment by their MCA, James Ong’ole.
The grievances were aired during a residents’ meeting held in Amoni Village on the outskirts of Busia town, where locals openly expressed dissatisfaction with the current leadership.
In a bold political move, the residents went a step further and endorsed David Bosco Itila, popularly known as “Boss Mkubwa,” to contest for the Ang’orom Ward seat in the upcoming general election.
They vowed to rally behind him and unseat Ong’ole, saying the ward deserves a leader who will prioritize development and address the needs of the people.
The residents also called on the youth to acquire national identity cards to enable them to fully participate in the next general election, noting that voter participation will be crucial in bringing the desired change in leadership.
They said the time for change had come and urged all eligible voters in the ward to prepare to make their voices heard at the ballot.
