A GSU officer was shot and injured on Sunday morning while on sentry duty at the GSU camp in Bodhai, Garissa County.
Police reports indicate that Police Constable George Kamau was injured in the morning while switching off a water pump near his sentry position at the camp, which shares a compound with Bodhai Police Station.

The officer sustained a gunshot wound below the navel, with the bullet exiting through his back.
Officers responded to the incident and repulsed the attackers before the injured officer was evacuated by Kenya Army personnel aboard a helicopter to Manda Air Base for further medical attention.
A joint security team comprising officers from the Special Operations Group (SOG), GSU, Kenya Police Service (KPS) and National Police Reservists (NPR) conducted a security operation west of the station.
The team discovered three sets of footprints suspected to belong to members of the Al-Shabaab militia.
Security officers are pursuing the suspected attackers as investigations into the incident continue.
