Police in Kikuyu,Kiambu County, are investigating the theft of a Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) transformer in Nduma area, Kerwa Location.
According to a police report recorded at Kerwa Police Station on Monday, the transformer was a stolen overnight on Sunday, October 11, after its cables were cut.
KPLC security officer Gad Nyabuti was alerted by members of the public before police officers and KPLC officials visited the scene and confirmed the incident.
The residents said the theft occurred at an unknown time during the night but had not been reported to the police.
The scene was photographed, while the value of the stolen transformer is yet to be established.
