A man aged 24 was seriously injured after falling from the fourth floor of Glory Towers Apartments in Nairobi’s Dagoretti area while allegedly trying to leave a house where he had been drinking with friends.
Police said the incident occurred on Monday after a disturbance was reported at a house on the fifth floor of the apartment.
Officers from Kabete Police Station rushed to the scene and found the man, identified as Shuayb Mohammed Shadow, lying on an adjacent mabati rooftop after falling from the building.
Preliminary investigations indicated that he had been locked out of the house by his friends, whom he had been drinking with.
The officers rescued Shadow, who appeared intoxicated and had multiple serious visible injuries to his head, hands, legs and other parts of his body, suspected to have been caused by the impact.
He was rushed to Eagles Nursing Hospital in Kangemi for urgent medical treatment.
His mother, Naima Bahdon, was informed of the incident.
Police also recovered assorted alcoholic drinks and drugs from the house and arrested six women who were drinking with the victim.
They are Juliet Makena, 23, a tenant; Bernadentte Grace, 23; Serena Koki, 22; Shishi Kamau Wanjiru, 20; Venessa Sigara Matoke, 21; and Ivy Wahu Andia, 29.
The six were placed in custody to assist police with investigations.
The case is being investigated by the Kabete Sub-County Police team and remains pending under further investigation.
