Two Suspected Drug Traffickers Arrested,84 Rolls of Bhang Recovered in Mariakani

Two suspected drug traffickers have been arrested in Mariakani Township, Kilifi County, after police recovered 84 large rolls of suspected bhang and two pangas during a night patrol.

According to police, officers from Mariakani Police Station who were on patrol in Mariakani Township and its environs in the wee hours of Friday intercepted the suspects at Njaro area.

The first suspect, identified as Ali Mbaji Mdigo, also known as “Mkadinali” was found trafficking 59 large rolls of a dry green plant material suspected to be cannabis sativa while riding a motorcycle, Police also recovered a panga from him.

The second suspect, Rashid Mustafa, alias “Malalo”, was arrested while in possession of 25 large rolls of the suspected cannabis and another panga.

The two suspects were taken into lawful police custody at Mariakani Police Station, while the suspected narcotics and other exhibits were secured in the station’s exhibit store pending weighing, sampling and further investigations.

Police said the suspects are expected to be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
