Watchman in critical condition after fall from NCBA building in Kakamega

Police in Kakamega County have launched investigations in an incident where a watchman was found critically injured following a fall from a commercial building in Kakamega town.

According to a report made at Kakamega Police Station today morning,the incident was first reported by police officers on foot patrol within the Central Business District.

While patrolling along Maziwa Road in Sheywe, the officers heard a loud bang and rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, they found the watchman identified only as Elijah lying in pain after reportedly falling from the third floor rooftop of the NCBA building where he was employed as a watchman.

Officers who responded to the scene observed that the victim had sustained multiple injuries across his body, including a fractured left hand.

He was immediately rushed to Kakamega County General and Referral Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

In a new twist to the incident, police later received information about suspicious activity inside the same building, which is not residential.

Detectives from DCI Kakamega Central revisited the scene and found two individuals locked inside the premises.

The two, identified as Amos Mbaila Amuyonzo, aged and Joyce Muhenje Tsikhungu reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for their presence in the building.

They were subsequently arrested and placed in custody to assist with investigations.
