A tragic incident has occurred in Homa Bay County after a 6 year old boy was a murdered by his father.
According to police officers at Mbita Police the incident was reported by the area chief of Gembe North Location,Paul Charles Ngoye, who alerted police today after receiving information from Nyasumbi Village.
Police officers, accompanied by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), responded swiftly to the scene located in Nyasumbi Village, Ngondhe Sub-location.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased, identified as Prince Onyango Otieno, was attacked by his father, Evans Otieno.
The child sustained severe head injuries after reportedly being struck multiple times with a jembe.
In the same incident, a second victim, identified as Fidia Moraa, was also attacked and is currently in critical condition receiving treatment at Kirindo Med 25 Hospital.
Police recovered the suspected murder weapon at the scene, which has been secured as an exhibit.
The scene was processed by investigators, and the body of the deceased was moved to Mbita SubCounty Mortuary, where it awaits post mortem examination.
