King Kanja to Release “Daima Mkenya” Anthem on Madaraka Day

Kenyan-born, US-based artist King Kanja has announced the release of his latest single and visual project, “Daima Mkenya,” set to launch on June 1, 2026, in line with Madaraka Day.

The project, developed in collaboration with the Daima Mkenya clothing brand, is positioned as a unifying national anthem celebrating Kenyan identity, cultural diversity, and collective pride. The music video was shot at the helipad of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre and features a diverse representation of Kenyan society.

Describing the project as more than just a music release, King Kanja said the song is intended to reflect identity and belonging in contemporary Kenya. The track blends contemporary African sound with themes of unity and national pride, with production support from collaborators including Karun and Run Music.

The project also includes a fashion component through the Daima Mkenya clothing brand, which will release a limited-edition apparel line inspired by the song’s message and symbolism. The campaign aims to connect music, fashion, and national identity under a single cultural theme.

According to the artist, the release will be supported by a wide distribution and promotional strategy. The song will be rolled out across digital platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and streaming services such as Boomplay, Spotify, Apple Music, Mdundo, and Skiza. The campaign will also include street activation initiatives such as a “CBD Sunday” dance and content movement aimed at promoting youth participation and organic online engagement.

Additional promotional efforts will include radio partnerships, DJ remix distribution, media placements, and grassroots digital outreach through WhatsApp groups and community networks. A DJ-ready distribution package will also be released to encourage remix culture and wider circulation of the track.

“Daima Mkenya” will be available globally on June 1, 2026, with a synchronized video release and campaign activation across multiple platforms.
