Notorious phone snatcher arrested in Mwiki

Police officers from Mwiki Police Station in Nairobi have arrested a suspected notorious phone snatcher following a manhunt.
The operation which was carried out yesterday led to the arrest of the suspect (pictured) identified as James Njuguna Thuo.

He had been linked to a series of phone snatching incidents along the busy Kasarani–Mwiki Road.

Police revealed that the suspect had also gained attention on social media platforms, where videos and reports of his alleged criminal activities had been circulating widely, prompting increased pressure for his arrest.

The coordinated police operation bore fruit after officers tracked down and apprehended the suspect.

Upon arrest he was held in custody at Mwiki Police Station pending further investigations and legal action.

During the arrest, a motorcycle registration number KMGS 202S, make TVS, believed to have been used in the commission of the crimes, was recovered and detained at the station as an exhibit.
