Five suspects arrested during a DCP political rally in Kikuyu,Kiambu County for allegedly causing mayhem at the rally have been charged.
The five individuals are Davis Maina Gututu, Christopher Macharia Njuguna, Benson Gaikwa Muigai, Hillary Onyikwa Otware, and Brian Mbugua Wanjiru.
They were presented before the Kikuyu Law Courts today.
The prosecution side informed the court that the suspects were apprehended during the rally while allegedly armed with dangerous weapons.
According to court proceedings,the five were charged with preparation to commit a felony, contrary to Section 308(1) of the Penal Code.
All suspects were granted a cash bail of Sh10,000 each.
The court further directed that the third accused person Benson Gaikwa Muigai, undergo an age assessment to determine his legal status.
The case is scheduled for mention on April 16 before Chief Magistrate Gicheha.
