Police in Nyeri County have arrested a 20 year old herdsman in connection with an alleged indecent act involving a minor aged four in Ihururu, Tetu.
Officers at Ihururu Police Station state that the incident was reported by a PP1 learner at Joflo Shine Academy, accompanied by her aunt.
The report indicates that the incident occurred during the April school holidays at a homestead in Ihururu sub location.
The suspect, identified as Emmanuel Chepkuzy Evans, allegedly lured the minor into his room where he committed the offence.
After the incident, the suspect reportedly returned the child to her aunt, who was within the same compound at the time.
The matter was later reported to authorities, prompting immediate action.
The victim was taken to Ihururu Level Four Hospital for medical attention and assessment.
Police officers from Ihururu Police Station apprehended the suspect, who is currently in custody awaiting further action.
