Bible verse of the day:1 Chronicles 4:10

By Pastor Vincent Roy Agoya.

Tucked away in a long list of genealogies is the remarkable story of Jabez. His name literally means “Pain”—a heavy label given to him by his mother at birth. Many of us carry similar labels: “failure,” “rejected,” or “unlucky.” But Jabez refused to let his past define his future. He didn’t just settle for a life of sorrow; he brought his pain to the God of Israel and asked for a radical shift.

Jabez’s prayer was bold. He asked for blessing, expansion, divine presence, and protection. He sought to move beyond the limitations of his name and the borders of his current life. His request wasn’t born of greed but of a desire to see God’s hand move mightily through him.

The most beautiful part of this verse is the ending: “And God granted his request.” God is not offended by your big prayers. He is a Father who delights in moving the boundaries of those who rely on Him.

Today, like Jabez, don’t be afraid to ask God to enlarge your territory—to give you more influence, more grace, and more of His presence so that you can be a blessing to others.
