A police officer attached to Shelly Beach Police Station was injured after a suspect bit his ear during an operation targeting criminal activities in the Likoni area of Mombasa county.
The incident occured yesterday evening when officers from Likoni police station arrested a thevsuspect identified as Amir Hamisi (26) believed to be linked to a series of criminal activities within Likoni.
During the arrest,Hamisi reportedly turned violent and grabbed Police officer Wyclife Ochieng before biting his left ear, inflicting injuries.
The injured officer was rushed to Likoni Level 4 Hospital where he received treatment and was later discharged.
Police said the suspect has since been placed in custody and is expected to be charged with various offences as investigations continue.
Police indicated that more details regarding the operation and the suspect’s alleged criminal activities will be released later.
