Residents and officers at the Chonyi Sub-County Police Headquarters in Kilifi County are set to benefit from free internet access after a government team completed the installation of a public WiFi system at the station.
A team from the ICT Department of Kenya Power Coast Region based in Mombasa visited the Police station to undertake the installation exercise.

The team was led by Collins Otieno Ochieng, who supervised the setup of the Government of Kenya free WiFi network within the police office complex and surrounding public areas.
Police said the internet service was installed both inside the offices to support official operations and outside the premises to provide connectivity within an estimated 100 metre radius for members of the public.
The team told DNK-International that the free WiFi service is expected to be activated in early next month as part of the government’s ongoing digital connectivity programme aimed at enhancing access to internet services in public institutions and communities.
