MP Wamuthende lead protests demanding transfer of Siakago girls Principal

Tension gripped Siakago Girls High School today after a group of protesters led by Mbeere North MP Leonard WaMuthende stormed the institution demanding the transfer of the school principal.

According to a report booked at Siakago Police Station the incident was reported by Deputy Principal Mercy Wambui and Dean of Studies Nectarias Njeru.

The two administrators stated that at around 11:00am, a group of about 40 people arrived at the school compound.

The delegation included MP Wamuthende,CDF Manager Eric Konji and several members of the public.

The group reportedly demanded to see the principal, who was absent from the school at the time.

They allegedly accused her of poor performance and called for her immediate transfer.

During the confrontation, the protesters are said to have harassed school staff before locking the corridor housing key administrative offices, including the principal’s office, deputy principal’s office, bursar’s office, accounts clerk’s office, boardroom and secretary’s office.

Police officers accompanied by detectives from the DCI rushed to the scene and established that the offices had been secured using a chain and padlock. A notice reading “Closed Until Further Notice” had also been placed at the entrance.

Police confirmed that despite the tense standoff, no injuries or destruction were reported during the incident at the school.

The matter is currently under police investigations, with officers from Siakago Police Station handling the case.
