Bware Secondary School Closes Indefinitely Over Suspected Arson Plot

By Our Correspondent,Uriri.

Bware Secondary School in Uriri, Migori County, has been closed indefinitely following fresh developments in an ongoing investigation into a series of fire and attempted arson incidents at the institution.

The latest report was made by the school’s principal, Moses Ngolo, who informed officers that two students discovered two 500ml bottles containing a liquid believed to be petrol inside a forested section of the school compound yesterday morning.

Police officers rushed to the scene and established that the bottles had reportedly been placed inside a sack.

However, by the time a second team arrived at the scene, the sack and the suspected petrol filled bottles had been hidden by unknown individuals.

As investigations intensified, police arrested a Form Three student identified to assist with inquiries into the incidents.

The Sub-County Education Officer for Uriri has since ordered the indefinite closure of Bware Secondary School pending the outcome of investigations into the suspected arson attempts and related fire incidents that have recently rocked the institution.
