Police in Kathiani,Machakos county have arrested a 53 year old pastor accused of allegedly indecently assaulting two young girls in Mathunya Village.
According to a report filed at Mitaboni Police Post yesterday, the complaint was made by two mothers who alleged that their daughters, aged 10 and 6 years, were assaulted by a man well known to the family.
Investigations established that the alleged incident occurred on May 27, 2026, at about 4:00 p.m. when the suspect reportedly visited the children’s home and is accused of inappropriately touching the minors.
Police identified the suspect as Stephen Mwanza Mutua, a pastor attached to A.I.C. Muonyweni Church.
He was subsequently arrested and placed in police custody.
Police said the suspect is scheduled to be arraigned in court today.
