A daring bar robbery incident was reported at Kivye Police Post today morning.
According to the report by Brian Murimi, a caretaker manager of Shade Lodge Bar located at Kivye Market,he stated that at around 2:30am, four men who had been drinking at the establishment turned hostile and revealed themselves as robbers.
The suspects, armed with Somali swords and one carrying an object resembling a pistol, overpowered the manager before tying his hands and legs with a rope.
They then ransacked the premises and stole three 55-inch Samsung television sets, six speakers, a DJ mixer system, one laptop, two mobile phones (Neon Smart and Itel), assorted alcoholic drinks and cash amounting to Sh4,400.
The total value of the stolen property is yet to be established.
During the robbery, the gang vandalized the bar’s CCTV surveillance system before fleeing in an unmarked grey motor vehicle to an unknown destination.
The victim later managed to free himself and reported the incident to police.
No injuries were reported during the incident.
