Rusted Revolver Unearthed on Nyeri Farm

By Our Reporter, Nyeri.

Police in Mukurweini, Nyeri County, have recovered an old revolver that was unearthed by a farm labourer while digging fencing holes at Itiini Village in Karundu Sub-location.

According to a report recorded at Kangurwe Police Station, the Officer OCS received information that a suspected firearm had been discovered on a farm in the area.

Police officers who visited the scene were informed by the farm owner, Samuel Mwangi, that his hired labourer, Patrick Macharia Mwangi, had come across a rusted metallic object while carrying out fencing work on the property.

Upon examination, officers identified the object as an old revolver.

However, its make and serial number could not be established due to extensive corrosion caused by prolonged exposure underground.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the firearm had been buried for a considerable period before it was accidentally unearthed during the fencing exercise.

The revolver was recovered and transported to Kangurwe Police Station, where it was registered as an exhibit and placed in safe custody pending further investigations into its origin and possible connection to past criminal activities.

Police have launched investigations to establish how the firearm ended up on the farm and how long it had remained buried.
