President Ruto Announces KDF Promotions and Appointments

President William Ruto has announced major changes in the Kenya Defence Forces, appointing Major General John Maiso Nkoimo as Deputy Commander Kenya Army and Brigadier Mohamud Salah Farah as Deputy Air Force Commander.

Brigadier William Kamoiro, Brigadier Peter Kipketer Limo and Brigadier (Dr) Francis Njoroge Kuria were promoted to Major General, while Colonels Mark Joseph Awala, Makonani Balata, Asma Diramo Kofa, Peter Karigih Kariuki and Benedetta Margaret Kikechi were promoted to Brigadier. Lieutenant Colonel Bernadette Awar Eyanae was promoted to Colonel.

The changes also saw Major General Edward Rugendo appointed Managing Director of Defence Forces Welfare Services, while the tenure of Kenya Navy Commander Major General Paul Owuor Otieno was extended by one year. Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan retired from service.
