BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY:Luke 7:1

By Pastor Vincent Roy Agoya

“When Jesus had finished saying all this to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum.” — Luke 7:1

This quiet transition verse bridges some of Jesus’ most radical teachings—including the Sermon on the Plain—with a powerful miracle. Jesus had just spent hours pouring out revolutionary truth to a massive crowd. But notice the specific distinction Luke makes: He spoke to the people who were listening.

There is a vast difference between being part of a crowd that hears Jesus and being a disciple who truly listens. The crowd stays for the spectacle, the inspiration, or the free food. The listener stays for the transformation, taking the words to heart and allowing them to change how they live out the rest of their week.

As Jesus moved from the mountainside into the busy streets of Capernaum, His words moved from the air into the daily lives of those who truly heard Him. Truth isn’t meant to be merely collected; it is meant to be lived.

Don’t let the last scripture you read or sermon you heard fade into the background. Today, pick one specific truth you have learned recently and find a practical way to apply it to a conversation or decision you make before the sun goes down.
