A 25 year old woman is recovering after she was raped and robbed by an unknown attacker in Matangi area, Juja Kiambu County.
According to a police report recorded at Theta Police Station, the victim was walking home yesterday night after alighting from a bus at AIPCA Junction along the Kimbo–Matangi Junction road when she was confronted by a man armed with a knife.
The attacker reportedly threatened her before forcing her into a nearby bush, where he raped her.
After the ordeal, the suspect allegedly ordered the woman to transfer all the money in her M-Pesa account.
She transferred Sh100, which was the only amount available in her account, to a mobile number she was later instructed to delete.
The assailant then stole her Samsung A17 mobile phone valued at approximately Sh20,000 before fleeing the scene.
The victim sought treatment at Ruiru Level 4 Hospital and was later discharged before reporting the incident to police.
Detectives have launched investigations and are working to trace and arrest the suspect.
