Boy Killed,Twin Brother Injured in Road Construction Accident on Nairobi–Naivasha Highway

A seven year old boy was killed while his twin brother sustained injuries after they were knocked down by a grader working on a road construction project along the Nairobi–Naivasha Highway.

The incident occured in Kiboko area, Limuru, Kiambu County on Wednesday evening.

Police in their report said that the weather was clear and the road surface was dry at the time of the incident.

According to the police report, the accident involved a Changlin motor grader, registration number KHMA 751S, whose driver fled the scene immediately after the crash.

The victims, identified as Alex Nganga and Antony Muiruri, both aged seven and pupils at Limuru Model Primary School, were reportedly walking along the section of the road that is under construction when they were struck by the grader.

Nganga suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot, while his twin brother,Muiruri, sustained injuries to his forehead.

He was rushed to Tigoni Level 4 Hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is reported to be in fair condition.

Police officers visited the scene and documented the incident before transferring the deceased’s body to the Tigoni Level 4 Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

Investigators are working to trace the grader driver, who remains at large, and to have the machine taken to the police station for further investigations.
