The Protective Security Industry Association (PSIA) on Friday held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), during which Chairman Cosmas Mutava presented the association’s 2025/2026 annual report and outlined the state of Kenya’s private security industry.
Addressing members, Mutava said the past year had tested the resilience of Kenya’s private security sector while also creating opportunities for growth, innovation and stronger collaboration among industry stakeholders.
He noted that despite the challenges experienced during the period, the industry had continued to adapt, strengthen partnerships and embrace reforms aimed at enhancing professionalism and service delivery.
The AGM also ushered in a new leadership team following elections conducted during the meeting.
Martin Kirimi Mwenda was elected the new Vice Chairman, while Shedrack Maithya was elected Treasurer, Robert Ichwara was elected Secretary, with Yuda Imunya and Stephen Makai taking up positions as Executive Members.
The newly elected officials pledged to work closely with members and stakeholders to advance the interests of the private security industry, promote professionalism and support initiatives that strengthen security services across the country.
