Police in Kisumu have arrested a man suspected of being linked to circumstances surrounding an accident involving a police vehicle in Homa Bay County during a Linda Mwananchi rally on August 16.
According to a police report filed at Railways Police Station in Kisumu, Yuda Obedi and resident of Homa Bay County, was arrested at the Shipyard grounds after he was reportedly spotted conspicuously near the dais area.
The arrest according to police followed intelligence received by police regarding a person suspected to have been involved in circumstances that led to the accident involving the police vehicle.
Officers who responded to the intelligence carried out a quick search and recovered a police pocket phone from the suspect.
He was taken to Railways Police Station, where he was held pending collection by detectives from the DCI in Homa Bay County.
Police said the matter had previously been reported and was being handled by DCI officers in Homa Bay, who are expected to take over the suspect for further investigations.
