Residents of India Village in Malaa, Matungulu West, Machakos County, have raised alarm over the excavation of murram from a local dam, which they claim is being used to repair roads elsewhere while the KBC-Misuuni-Church Road remains in poor condition.
The residents questioned why the material was not being used to improve the road serving their community and accused Matungulu West MCA Lucky Raphael Nzau of neglecting the area.
They want authorities to establish whether the excavation is authorised and how the murram is being utilised.
Efforts to reach Governor Wavinya Ndeti for comment were unsuccessful.
