According to a police report,Constable Felix Mugambi and Constable Kelvin Irungu from Kathonzweni Police Post had gone to Village Inn Bar and Restaurant to arrest a suspect linked to a case of malicious damage to a motor vehicle reported on September 19.

The two officers are also accused of assaulting their colleagues and helping the main suspect, reportedly their relative, evade arrest.

Police said Kiema attempted to snatch a G3 rifle from Irungu during the confrontation, sustaining injuries to his left thumb and head in the process.
