The ongoing war on crime in Khwisero,Kakamega county has intensified after police today arrested three suspects and recovered stolen household items from them.

This followed a dawn operation targeting a series of breaking and burglary incidents in Kisa Central Location.

According to a report filed at Khwisero Police Station on Monday,a combined team of officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kenya Police Service (KPS) and the National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) conducted the operation at around 4:00 a.m. on January 5, 2026, acting on credible intelligence.

The operation led officers to a homestead belonging to Abraham Akali in Emululo Village, Emutsatsa Sub-Location, where they searched the house of his son, Raphael Luta Akali.

The search was linked to a burglary and stealing incident reported on Sunday at the residence of Wilberforce Amukhoye, during which several household items were stolen.

During the search, police recovered two bedsheets and a bag believed to be part of the stolen property.

The items were positively identified by the complainant, leading to the immediate arrest of Raphael Luta Akali.

Subsequent interrogation of the suspect led to the arrest of two more individuals Julius Okoti Swako and Franklin Manyulia Makomere, aged who are believed to have aided in the commission of the offence.

Police processed the crime scene, and authorities indicated that details regarding the total number and value of stolen items will be provided in a follow up report.

Investigators say the recovered items and intelligence gathered point to joint involvement by the suspects in a wider network of break ins within the area.

Police say operations to curb burglary and related crimes in Khwisero Sub-County are ongoing.
