A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer is in police custody after being arrested over an alleged rape incident reported in Nyali, Mombasa County.
According to a report filed at Nyali Police Station yesterday,the incident occurred on January 6, 2026, at an apartment on the third floor of a storey building in Kisimani area.
The complainant, a 22 year old woman (name withheld), told police that she had gone to her friend’s house so they could proceed together to their boiled egg business.
However, upon knocking at the door, she was allegedly received by her friend’s husband, who invited her inside before locking the door.
The suspect is said to have threatened her, claiming he had killed many people and that killing her would not be a big deal.
He then allegedly overpowered her, threatened her life when she tried to scream and resist.
The officer forcefully raped her.
After the ordeal, the victim sought medical attention at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, where she was examined, and a Post Rape Care (PRC) form was filled.
She later reported the matter to the police, prompting investigations.
Police arrested the suspect, who was identified as a KDF officer, and placed him in custody pending arraignment in court for plea taking.
The Military Police have since been notified, and investigations are ongoing
