Security Guard Killed as Gang Steals Transformer at Moi Family Farm in Nakuru

A security guard was brutally murdered on Friday morning during a robbery at a farm belonging to the family of the late President Daniel Arap Moi in Nakuru county

The farm is known as Morop Farm in Bahati, Nakuru North Sub-County.

A report of the incident was filed at Bahati Police Station and was reported by Sanya Kasoso, the farm manager.

The attack occurred at around 4:46 a.m. after a gang of about nine unknown people raided the farm, vandalized infrastructure and stole a transformer.

Kasoso said that he was alerted by a neighbouring farmer who had received information from one of the farm’s security guards.

Senior Police command from the area visited the scene and made a grim discovery.

One security guard, identified as Paul Ekidor Akoromuk,aged 57 years old was found lying dead in a pool of blood.

His hands and legs had been tied with nylon rope, and he had a deep cut on the face.

Two other guards, Isaac Lolkirik and Samwel Loote, who were on duty with the deceased, were also found tied and severely beaten.

They sustained injuries to their faces and hands, and their mobile phones were stolen during the attack.

The injured guards were rushed to St. Antony Hospital for treatment.

Scenes of crime officers from Nakuru County Headquarters documented the scene, while the body of the deceased was taken to Kwa Jack Mortuary for preservation and post-mortem examination.

Police have classified the case as robbery with violence and investigations are ongoing, with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Nakuru North handling the matter.

Authorities say more details will be released as investigations continue.
