DNK International WHO IS BURNING ELECTRONIC SHOPS ON LUTHULI AVENUE?
In a space of 3 days up to 12 shops selling expensive assorted Electronics on Lithuli avenue have been gutted by a mysterious fire.
Several traders are counting huge losses to the tune of millions in the night inferno.
Most of them have never bothered with fire insurance! Even owners of the building.
The fire whose cause is suspected to be an electric fault has left the CBD retching in suffocating thick fumes that even assailed nearby commercial buildings, hotels and churches.
True to the city’s hawk nosed “holloi polloi” with a thirst for reaping where they have not sowed, a gang of would be looters trying to take advantage of the situation to steal found themselves face to face with stone faced heavily armed police contingent who blocked all access lanes with anti riot trucks.
The same week has seen unexplained fires on the busy Manyanja road open air businesses towards Umoja, Donholm and Kayole, some 12 kms East of Nairobi.
Another heavy fire blamed on an exploding gas cylinder rocked Kitengela residential apartments causing anguish to residents who lost household and business stock.
Now city dwellers are demanding to know the cause of these sudden fire incidents wondering if there is more than meets the eye?
Over to you hard working Nairobi city Governor Johnson Sakaja whose massive facelift of the green city in the sun is being tainted by such destruction by tongues of angry flames!
