Man robbed his pistol in Kayole

Police in Kayole,Nairobi have launched a manhunt after a man licensed to hold ac firearm holder was violently robbed of his pistol.

The attack occured near Kwa Mchanga area on Monday night.

According to a report filed at Kayole Police Station the victim, Leonard Muthee Kinuthia, was heading to his residence at around 10.30pm when he was followed and confronted by two men.

The assailants allegedly assaulted him, striking him on the left side of the jaw, tearing his clothes, and fleeing with his licensed civilian firearm.

The stolen weapon was loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition at the time of the robbery.

Kinuthia reported that the suspects escaped on foot towards Kangundo Road.

He sustained injuries to his jaw during the incident and reported the matter immediately.

Police officers, led by the OCS Kayole, responded promptly and visited the scene.

Preliminary investigations, including a review of CCTV footage, have reportedly yielded leads on the identity of the suspects.

A search operation is currently underway to arrest those responsible and recover the firearm.

Police have meanwhile urged members of the public with any information related to the incident to come forward as efforts to track down the suspects intensify.
