A security sensitization forum bringing together police, local administrators, and residents was held on Thursday at Kahuho Shopping Centre in Kabete Kiambu County,.
It took place as authorities stepped up efforts to enhance safety and social responsibility within the area.
The meeting was led by Officer Commanding Kahuho police post Okochil, alongside the area chief and two assistant chiefs.
About 100 residents attended the engagement, which focused on strengthening cooperation between the public and security agencies.
Key discussions centred on the fight against illicit brews and drug abuse, enforcement of opening and closing hours for bars and wine and spirit outlets, and the need for timely information sharing on criminal activities.
Public health awareness was also emphasized, with residents urged to remain vigilant on matters affecting community wellbeing.
Participants further raised concerns over students affected by the transition to the Grade 10 system, the need to revive the stalled Kahuho Water Project, and the importance of profiling criminal elements to curb rising insecurity.
Attention was also drawn to the care and protection of vulnerable members of society, particularly elderly persons.
The residents were encouraged to work closely with local leaders and police to promote security and social order in Kahuho and its environs.
