Form three and form four students at Masavi Mixed Secondary School in Kithumula Sublocation staged a peaceful strike on Tuesday morning, citing teacher shortages and dissatisfaction with school management.

According to Nguni Police Station, students listed several grievances, including a lack of Biology and Agriculture teachers, poor KCSE results last year (C-1, D+2, D14, D-25, E-3), weekly sending home over unpaid fees, and alleged absenteeism and negligence by the school principal.

They also raised concerns about being victimised whenever they voice complaints.

Police and administrative officials, including the OCS and Assistant County Commissioner of Nguni Division, engaged both students and parents at Kithumula Market.

All parties agreed to attend a meeting with the Sub County Director of Education on Thursday, January 29,2026, to resolve the issues.

No injuries or damages were reported during the strike.
