Police in Malindi have arrested a 63 year old Italian national over allegations of unlawfully distributing intimate images, contrary to Section 37 of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018.
According to Malindi Police Station records,the suspect, identified as Claudio Zaghen was arrested on January 27, 2026, at around 5.00pm at Angels Bay Residence in the Mambrui area of Magarini, Kilifi County.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by a 28 year old Kenyan woman, Rael Aida Sikuku, who reported that the suspect had allegedly shared her intimate images via WhatsApp with a third party without her consent.
Police say the matter is under active investigation by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Malindi, who have taken over the case.
The suspect was booked at Malindi Police Station and later released on cash bail, pending his arraignment in court.
Investigations are ongoing as the case awaits prosecution.
