Nairobi County Government Urged to Improve Garbage Collection as Waste Piles Up in City Centre

Garbage is steadily becoming a growing menace in Nairobi, with heaps of uncollected waste now visible at the busy Nairobi bus station.

What was once a sporadic problem is slowly taking shape into a public health and environmental concern, as witnessed by our photographer on the ground today.

The accumulation of garbage not only paints a poor image of the capital but also poses risks to commuters, traders and residents who frequent the area daily.

The Nairobi County Government under Governor Johnson Sakaja is being urged to act swiftly and decisively to restore the city’s cleanliness and uphold Nairobi’s status as a green and orderly capital.
