I’ll defect from Jubilee if they work with Gachagua — Ngunjiri Wambugu
By Our Reporter,Nyeri.

Former Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has issued a stern warning to the Jubilee Party over its continued association with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

The outspoken politician stated that he would not contest on a Jubilee ticket if the party officially aligns itself with Gachagua, even if the United Opposition were to pick Jubilee Deputy Leader Dr.Fred Matiang’i as its joint presidential candidate.

In a Facebook post, Ngunjiri said there was no possibility of working alongside someone who has openly opposed his political ambitions.

“There is no way I can be on the same side as a fellow who has privately and publicly stated, including at a rally he recently held in Nyeri Town that he does not want me elected in Nyeri Town,” he wrote.

He added: “So if Jubilee is officially working with him, they should look for another candidate in Nyeri Town. There’s no way I am working with both of them and him.”

Ngunjiri previously served as Rigathi Gachagua’s Chief Political Advisor when Gachagua was the country’s second in command.

It remains unclear whether Ngunjiri who has consistently launched attacks against the former Deputy President will join President William Ruto’s ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

For his part, Gachagua has maintained that any political leader opposed to his stance is a mole working for President Ruto.
