A rape incident has been reported at Gatong’ora Police Station in Ruiru Kiambu County.
The report followed an alleged assault involving a man the complainant met through TikTok.
According to police records the incident occured on Saturday January 31.
It was reported by the victim a resident of Kitisuru,Nairobi.
The complainant stated that she had been invited by a TikTok acquaintance to Alfakher Bar along Mirema Drive, where she met him in the company of another man and a woman.
Police reports indicate that after consuming several drinks, the complainant excused herself at around 1:00 a.m. to arrange transport home.
At this point, the TikTok friend allegedly snatched her mobile phone and went to his friend’s car.
When she followed him to plead for the return of her phone, he reportedly refused, insisting it was unsafe for her to travel alone at night and proposing that she spend the night at his residence, which he described as a two bedroom house.
The complainant stated that she was eventually persuaded and the group drove in another man’s vehicle to an Airbnb located at 2nd Sunrise, Kamakis, approximately two kilometres from Gatong’ora Police Station.
Upon arrival, she discovered the residence was a studio apartment.
While inside the apartment, the suspect allegedly forced her to engage in unprotected sexual intercourse while denying her access to her mobile phone.
After the incident, she managed to convince him to return the phone and allow her to leave, after which she proceeded home.
The matter was later reported to a friend, who escorted her to Nairobi Women’s Hospital, where she received medical attention and was discharged.
She subsequently reported the incident to Gatong’ora Police Station, prompting the commencement of investigations.
