Police officers from Kamulu Police Station on Saturday morning rescued a boda boda rider who was moments away from being lynched by an angry mob at Kwa Musili, Stage 26 area of Ruai.
The incident according to police was reported to them by village elder Evans Katambi at around 10:00 a.m.
He was identified as Felix Nyakundi, 25, from Chokaa area and was allegedly found carrying suspected stolen items while riding a motorcycle.
Residents reportedly turned violent and subjected Nyakundi to mob justice, accusing him of theft and threatening to set him on fire.
Officers from Kamulu Police Station rushed to the scene in time and rescued the suspect from the mob.
Police recovered a wheelbarrow and a metal pulley support at the scene as exhibits.
Nyakundi sustained multiple deep cuts to the head and complained of chest pain after being assaulted.
He was rushed to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment.
