A man is fighting for his life at Vihiga County Referral Hospital after he was subjected to mob injustice over an alleged theft incident in Chango Village, Central Maragoli Location, Vihiga Sub-county.
According to a report filed at Vihiga Police Station yesterday evening,the incident was reported by Chango Area Assistant Chief Ruth Luvai.
Members of the public allegedly confronted the suspect after he was accused of stealing two chickens.

Police officers who rushed to the scene rescued the victim, identified as Nixon Efetha.
Preliminary information indicates that the chickens were identified by their owner Ian Kidumbu, prompting anger among residents who then attacked the suspect.
During the incident, Efetha sustained serious injuries, including fractures to both legs.
He was immediately escorted by police officers to Vihiga County Referral Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
The recovered exhibits were taken to Vihiga Police Station for further investigation.
Police have since launched inquiries into the incident, which is being handled as Pending Under Investigation (P.U.I).
