Drunk Passenger Arrested After Mid Air Chaos on Mombasa-Nairobi flight

A 42 year old man was arrested at the JKIA on after causing disruption aboard a domestic flight from Mombasa to Nairobi, airport police have confirmed.
The incident occurred in the early hours involving Jambojet Flight.

According to the Kenya Airports Police Unit based at JKIA, the passenger,identified as Philip Omondi Otieno became unruly during the flight, verbally abusing fellow passengers and repeatedly defying instructions from the cabin crew.

Tension escalated as the aircraft prepared to land when the man reportedly refused to sit down and fasten his seat belt, prompting safety concerns.

The flight’s captain alerted ground security to intervene immediately upon landing.

On arrival at JKIA, security officers escorted the suspect from the aircraft to the Kenya Airways Security Office, where a multi-agency team convened to assess the situation.

After deliberations, authorities resolved to charge the suspect with the offence of jeopardizing good order and discipline.

He was later handed over to officers at JKIA Police Station and placed in custody, where police noted that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

Airport police reiterated their warning to passengers that disruptive behavior aboard aircraft poses serious safety risks and will attract firm legal action.
