Woman Arrested as Police Recover Suspected Fake 25 Million US Dollars, Police Gear in Runda Estate Raid

Detectives in Nairobi have arrested a woman and recovered suspected fake foreign currency worth millions of shillings following a raid in the Runda Estate,Nairobi in a case linked to obtaining money by false pretence.

According to police reports, officers from Runda Police Station acting on intelligence related to an earlier fraud complaint reported on February 16 led them to House No. 574 along Pan Africa Insurance Lane within Runda Estate on Wednesday.

Police upon entry in the house they found three adult occupants in the house,two workers and a woman believed to be the wife of the main suspect, who was not present at the time.

During the search, police recovered a police communication gadget charging in the living room, raising immediate suspicion.

A further search led to the recovery of several items hidden in one of the rooms, including 25,000,000 US dollars suspected to be counterfeit, a police smoke jacket, 16 ink rubber stamps bearing names of different state agencies, and a public seal of the United States Embassy.

Investigators also seized various letters of appointment believed to be forged.
In addition, a silver Mercedes-Benz motor vehicle, registration number KAZ 990, was recovered and towed to the station for further police action.

Three mobile phones were also seized.
One suspect, identified as Barbara Kerubo Mogeni, was arrested and detained at Runda Police Station.
