A truck belonging to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) faction allied to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has been attacked by suspected goons in Kisumu county.

The truck, mounted with public address system was headed to Kakamega town when it ran into goons at Riat in Kisumu county.

Photos taken at the scene showed its windscreen shattered by a stone.

Sifuna, speaking to DNK-International from Kakamega town he sought to downplay the incident, terming it ” isolated.”

“Yes, it’s true, one of our vehicles has been attacked but it’s nothing serious,” he said.

The Sifuna team is expected to address its third rally at Amalemba Grounds in Kakamega town on Saturday following two hugely successful rallies in Busia town and Kitengela town, Kajiado county over the last two weeks.

Sifuna’s supporters have warned Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa against any attempts to hire goons to disrupt the Kakamega rally saying they had intelligence that he harboured such plans.

“Barasa, we warn you against paying people’s children Sh500 each to disrupt the rally, you will simply be paying for their deaths,” one unidentified man was heard warning in a recorded video.

The rival ODM faction headed by Siaya Senator Dr Oburu Oginga will on the other hand hold a parallel rally at Ahindi Grounds in Siaya town on the same day.

President William Ruto will on his part be in Kakamega county on Sunday for a church service at Bulimbo in Matungu constituency on Sunday.
