Lightning Strike Kills 15 Goats in Kinango

A lightning strike has caused loss to a farmer in Kwale County after it killed 15 goats in Kinango Sub-County.

According to a report filed at Vigurungani Police Station, the incident occurred on Saturday at about 3:45pm in Wamasa Village, Vigurungani Location.

The report was made by Priscah Mwende, a resident of the area, who told officers that while heavy rain accompanied by thunder was falling, lightning struck her goat shed.

All 15 goats inside were killed instantly.

The animals are estimated to be worth approximately Sh 100,000.

Police officers from the station visited the scene, confirmed the incident, and documented it through photographs.

Mwende was advised to safely bury the carcasses to prevent health risks.
