A robbery with violence incident was reported in the early hours of Monday morning at Lugari Diploma Teachers College,Lumakanda.
A night guard was injured during the raid in which copper cables of unknown value was stolen.
According to a police report,the incident was reported via phone call by Kevin Baraza.
Responding officers established that unknown suspects gained access to the institution by scaling the perimeter wall behind the administration block.
Once inside, the assailants vandalised lightning arresters.
In the course of the crime, the suspects were reportedly confronted by a night guard, Eugene Wibada, an employee of Haviz Security Company, which is contracted by the college.
The suspects turned violent, assaulting the guard and inflicting head injuries on him.
He was rushed to Lumakanda County Hospital, where he was treated and later discharged in fair condition.
Police have launched investigations into the incident.
