A 19 year old man was on Wednesday evening seriously injured after climbing on an electricity transformer in Khwisero,Kakamega County.
Police have confirmed.
According to a report filed at Khwisero Police Station, the incident occurred at Mushinaaka area, Mundobelwa Sub-location, Kisa North Location.
The incident was reported by a resident, Samuel Opembe, who alerted police that a young man had been injured at the scene.
Officers who rushed there established that the victim, identified as Dishon Anenga, had already been taken to Khwisero Level IV Hospital for emergency treatment.
Preliminary police findings indicate that the victim had climbed an electricity transformer pole in what officers described as an attempted self harm incident.
He was partly burnt in the process and fell to the ground, sustaining serious injuries.
Authorities have urged members of the public to report such incidents promptly and encouraged families and communities to seek timely support for individuals facing emotional or psychological distress.
