Police foil attempted break in at Kaimosi Teachers College

Police officers from Cheptulu Police Station are pursuing two suspected criminals who escaped after an attempted arrest at Kaimosi Teachers College in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

According to police records, the incident was reported by an AP officer at 4.30am.

The officer reported that while on routine patrol within the college compound his two colleagues spotted two men suspects attempting to climb into a ladies’ hostel.

The officers attempted to arrest the suspects, but they fled the scene.

In response an officer of the rank of Corporal discharged 14 rounds of ammunition from his AK-47 rifle in an effort to stop the escape.

Police suspect the fleeing individuals may have sustained injuries during the incident.

A search operation is currently underway, with officers from Cheptulu Police Station combing the area.
The case has been recorded as PUI (Persons Under Investigation) and investigations are ongoing.
