A woman aged 22 is recovering in hospital after a suspected gang rape incident in Sirgoi Village, Bungoma County on Thursday.
A report of the incident was made at Kaptama Police Station.
Police while confirming the report said that she was discovered unconscious in an open field in Sirgoi Village.
The alert was made via phone by a member of the public.
Officers who responded to the scene found the woman lying unconscious with no visible external injuries.
Clothes belonging to her were recovered a short distance away.
Preliminary investigations showed that the assault may have occurred after a drinking session and that the suspects are persons known to the victim.
Investigations into the incident has been launched as police track the culprits.
