A teacher attached to Shitsiswi Junior Secondary School in Butere,Kakamega County is recovering in hospital after she was violently robbed and raped by unknown assailants at her house in Sabatia Trading Centre.
According to a police report recorded at Butere Police Station the incident was reported by her colleague yesterday morning.
The reportee informed police that her colleague had been attacked at her rental house located within Sabatia trading centre.
Police officers who visited the scene established that two men suspects broke into the victim’s house at around 1:00am.
The attackers assaulted her using a crowbar, injuring her on the head and left hand.
One of the suspects then raped the victim before the two fled with a 32-inch Vitron television set valued at approximately Sh20,000 and a 3-kilogram gas cylinder.
The scene was processed by investigators while the victim was rushed to St James Amenity Hospital where she was admitted in stable condition.
Police have launched investigations into the incident and are pursuing the suspects.
